Fadi Salem

Fadi Salem is the Director of Policy Research and Advisory of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, formerly Dubai School of Government,, the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Dubai Policy Review Journal, and a Senior Fellow with the Future Government and Innovation Group. He was also an Associate at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), and a Fellow at the Innovation Policy Research Centre, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He has guest lectured in schools of government in three continents, including the University of Oxford and Harvard University as well as in leading think tanks. His areas of expertise covers Digital Governance, Technology Policy, Innovation policies, Smart cities development, Open Government, Open Data, Social Media, youth and entrepreneurship, Future of Government models, citizen engagement, eParticipation, eVoting, and impact of digital media transformations on political and social discourses in the Middle East. His research has extensively covered different aspects of Digital Transformation and Digital Governance across the Arab region. Fadi holds a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Oxford, a Masters in Information Systems Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from the School of Engineering, Aleppo University. Fadi is also an author of numerous publications and policy reports, including the widely cited Arab Social Media Report series. His work and interviews have been featured in (among others) The Economist, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Financial Times, Foreign Policy Magazine, Foreign Affairs, BBC, CNN, and numerous other media outlets.
