Abstract

From the Publisher:

The modern graphics course has largely done away with board drafting as an intermediate step between the preliminary, rough sketch of a design and the initial prototype. Engineers refine their design ideas directly on a CAD system. Students need extra assistance with the process of visualization, and with preparing initial freehand sketches of design ideas, before they are sufficiently prepared to work in CAD. This text provides a tie-in between freehand sketching as a means of visualizing an initial design idea, and solid modeling on a CAD system as a tool for refining the design. The workbook format gives students numerous drawing exercises to build their visualization and sketching skills.
