Semantic matchmaking of web services constraint conditions

Published: 24 September 2009 Publication History

Abstract

As constraint conditions of web services, Preconditions and Effects in OWL-S specification play important role in web services matchmaking. However, the constraint conditions based web services matchmaking methods mostly adopt θ - subsumption, which lacks semantic level support. This paper presents a new semantic matchmaking method of web services constraint conditions, which integrates Rule system and Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) with semantic matchmaking. The constraint conditions are categorized into two kinds: numerical value-constraint and object-constraint. Then two semantic matchmaking methods are proposed separately according to these two kinds constraint conditions. Prototype system and examples have been implemented to show the practicability and effectiveness of the proposed semantic matchmaking approach.
