Best Paper Award 2024

We are pleased to announce the winner of the first edition of the Best Paper Award in Advances in Continuous and Discrete Models: Professor Avy Soffer, for his article, A new paradigm for scattering theory of linear and nonlinear waves: review and open problems. This notable and comprehensive review article explores the recent advancements in scattering theory, providing a unified approach to studying dispersive and hyperbolic equations with general interaction terms and data. Professor Avy Soffer is a Distinguished Professor in the Mathematics Department at Rutgers University, United States. He has made significant contributions in the field of mathematical physics and partial differential equations and has received a number of awards and prizes recognising this, including the Avraham Cohen Fellowship in Physics (1982), the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in Mathematics (1988–1989), and the Rutgers Research Council Grant Awards in 1996 and 2006. He was also awarded the Weston Fellowship at the Weizmann Institute (2007–2008) and named a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2015. In 2006, he delivered an invited lecture at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Madrid, Spain. His research topics cover quantum and tunneling dynamics, and scattering, spectral theory and resonances, dispersive wave equations, linear and nonlinear, soliton dynamics, and scattering on manifolds. Congratulations!

Feature Collection: Biomathematical Modelling and Stochastic Analysis

Advances in Continuous and Discrete Models is calling for submissions to our Collection on Biomathematical Modelling and Stochastic Analysis. This thematic series focuses on biomathematical modeling and its associated analysis for interacting populations and significant epidemic diseases.
