Dynamic UX based m-learning using user profile of learning style

Published: 24 November 2017 Publication History

Abstract

M-learning has become more popular in the educational area as the important tool to play the significant role in people's daily life. However, there have been a few M-learning designs which have been considered the learners' needs and styles. This thus resulted in the ability to understand the lessons for several learners in various topics. With different learning style and user experience preferences for each user, therefore, the different user experience (UX) should be varied regarding to those factors. This research proposed the dynamic UX M-learning which suitable for each group of the learner. The information related to the learning style is kept in the user profile and used for UX and lesson selection suitably for user. The experiment has conducted for Introduction of Programming subjects. The pre-test and post-test methodology of user's learning based on user's learning style have been used to evaluate the user's effectiveness and satisfaction. It has shown that user who implemented user profile with learning style could derive the UX M-learning and content match to user's learning style. It found that all group of learners gave rate good for understanding the lessons at 3.63 out of 5. Likewise, user satisfaction criteria was rated good with scores at 3.84. The UX M-learning which taking into consideration of User Profile of Learning Style has the impact towards the attraction, emotions and provides the learners with the better understanding of the lesson.
