Abstract
In the context of globalization, a strategic integrated manufacturing model is essential to achieve excellence in industry. Most of the manufacturing industries are practicing integrated model by integration of two or three manufacturing concepts. Based on previous studies, there is need of comprehensive integrated manufacturing model for manufacturing industries to attain excellence and maintain its sustainability. In order to fill up this gap, the authors have developed integrated manufacturing business excellence system (IMBES) model. The objective of this paper is to examine the contextual relationships among the critical success factors of the IMBES using interpretive structural modeling and model is validated using structural equation modeling approach. The findings of this study reveal that critical factors namely visionary leadership and management commitment, organization culture and manufacturing strategy are found to be significant in driving the implementation of the IMBES model. Further the model fit was established through SEM approach. It is suggested that IMBES model can reinforce the system strategy, contribute to achieve excellence and maintain its sustainability.
