Abstract
This paper describes the Computer Based Learning and Teaching (CBLT) system that has been developed at East China Normal University in Shanghai. The system addresses the shortage of educational technology resources in Chinese higher education. Up to 64 students can be offered multimedial computer-based learning by using a single PC. Fairly advanced educational technology can be linked in on a hardware and a software base into this system. Up till now some 50 systems have been implemented in China. As the system offers interesting possibilities for various forms of co-operative and computer-based learning, the expectation is that the number of active systems will increase strongly the coming years.
