Abstract
Intelligent Investor is an intelligent system which aims to support investment decision-making. In particular, the system supports the selection procedure regarding stocks in the Athens Stock Exchange, as well as portfolio composition and management procedures.
The implementation of such systems intends to utilize not only the advantages of Decision Support Systems (models, interactive decision-making procedure, preferential reasoning) but also AI technologies, so as to optimize the systems’ response to the complicated and rapidly changing financial markets.
The proposed system utilizes both multi-criteria analysis methods and artificial intelligence technologies (expert systems). It is an integrated system that uses and incorporates all the latest tools available in portfolio management, i.e. Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis and Market Psychology. The system provides a complete and adequately justified investment proposition, for the preparation of an ASE stock portfolio, which is fully adapted to the investment profile of the user-investor. The present paper introduces the proposed methodology and architecture of theIntelligent Investor system.
