Abstract

In this paper, the problem of selecting an electronic documentation management system (EDMS) is considered. The paper focuses on the selection of a system for Polish municipalities. This problem is an example of a decision-making problem. In this paper, the EDMS implementation goals are discussed as well as the criteria that are important in the process of decision-making. The core of the paper is to show how the AHP model can be used to integrate different criteria to be considered in the decision-making process. The problem, based on the AHP model, is discussed with respect to two proposed non-commercial electronic documentation management systems for Polish municipalities. The conclusions drawn from the analysis of this problem and future directions of research are also included in the paper.
