Zusammenfassung
Was unternehmen eigentlich Benutzer, nachdem sie informierende Visualisierungen betrachtet haben, die ihnen ein interaktives System präsentiert hat? Diese Frage ist von entscheidender Bedeutung für die Gestaltung der Visualisierung an sich. Dabei gibt es Situationen, die nur einen Zwischenschritt in der Arbeit darstellen und zur Auswahl weiterer Visualisierungen führen. Andere Visualisierungen werden von Benutzern als “mentale Bilder“ verinnerlicht, ohne daß eine Verbalisierung im Vordergrund steht. Eine Vielzahl von Visualisierungen erfüllt aber ihren Zweck genau dann besonders gut, wenn sie zu geeigneten Verbalisierungen von Seiten der Betrachter führt.
