Abstract
This paper presents a model based development approach for the design and validation of electronic control systems, the DTF Data Time Flow Simulator. The DTF is developed at the AIT in the course of the EU ARTEMIS project POLLUX, which is related to the design of embedded systems for the next generation of electric cars. One application of the DTF is the design of vehicle electronic control systems. The automotive industry operates in a very competitive market, where it is hard to get detailed technical information from manufacturers and suppliers. To raise the acceptance for development tools in such a market, the challenge for tool developers is to provide tools that the customers can use without the need to share corporate know-how with third parties. This challenge is addressed in this paper. We present a generic framework for the design of electronic control systems and an application example for performance analysis of such a control system for use in an electric car.
