Abstract

Multicast is an evolving technology for efficient transmission for one-to-many and many-to-many communications. The successful deployment of secure multicast model needs to be more distributed rather than the current centralized approach. In this work, a distributed approach in multicast routing is proposed which enhances the group key management schemes over a large-scale network. Existing work prove that group key management is vulnerable due to latency and complexity involved in multicast transmission. This model is designed to reduce latency and distribute the complexity. The assumptions based on which this work was implemented are discussed.
