Abstract

For the purpose of satisfying the response performance of cloud users while reducing the energy consumption in cloud computing, we propose a task scheduling strategy with a sleep-delay timer and a waking-up threshold. According to the stochastic behavior of tasks with the proposed strategy, we establish a synchronous vacation queueing model with vacation-delay and N-policy. Then we derive the average sojourn time of tasks and the energy conservation level of the system in a steady state. Finally, we provide numerical experiments to investigate the impacts of system parameters on performance criteria.
