Abstract
This paper extends the notion of chromaticism for the actual performance scenery. In contemporary staged performances, singers not only chant but they also move around, while the theatrical scenery is dynamically recreated with advanced audiovisual components. The lighting components interplay with streaming components, urging for kinaesthetic and bodily communication with audiences. As interaction increases, the notion of “live performance” is enhanced with ubiquitous and mobile communication components. Thus, an augmented sphere of interaction is created, for both in situ and remote participants. The production terms of such performances are contested under the prism of liturgical practices in diachrony and advances in mobile technology in our synchrony.
