Abstract

To solve the complex and low efficiency problems of collaborative communication between design and manufacturing, this paper proposes a method for the construction of design rationale knowledge-integrated Model based Definition (MBD) model. Based on the above starting point, the product design knowledge sharing and design-manufacturing communicating mechanisms are proposed to support collaboration. A prototype system is designed and implemented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
