Abstract
Electronic delivery of financial products is a convenient method of providing consumers with information on, and access to, goods and services. This paper considers the specific area of online financial advice and how, through the application of stakeholder requirements and design recommendations criteria, a ‘personalised’ approach can be developed. This paper identifies the requirements of two groups of stakeholder (potential end-users and financial advisers) to inform the design of an online advice system. Interviews with financial advisers identified the interaction process with clients. This was supported by a series of discussion groups involving potential users to identify and understand user experiences and attitudes towards advisers, the Internet and online advice. The data gathered formed the basis of a set requirements used to develop a concept interface to an online financial advice system.
