26K views · 13K reactions | Here is another option for paw print ornaments! 🐾 ⛄️ These baking soda clay paw print keepsakes are super easy to make. I wanted to give those who might be worried about having salt dough ornaments in the house another option. They were a little bit more delicate to work with but still a fun family project that includes our fur babies. This is a great craft to share with your family and friends for the holiday season. Stay tuned for more holiday dog friendly holiday ideas. ✨ YOU WILL NEED 1 cup baking soda 1/2 cup cornstarch 3/4 cup water Holiday cookie cutters Ribbon or string INSTRUCTIONS 1.In a medium sized pot combine the cornstarch, baking soda, and water. 2.Stir over medium heat. After a couple of minutes, the mixture will begin to thicken. It does not take long so keep an eye on it. 
3. When it looks like mashed potatoes, remove the pot from the heat. 4.Spoon the mixture into a bowl and cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap until it’s cool. About 5-10 mins 5.When it’s cool, knead into a smooth and silky dough.(Add more cornstarch if it feels too sticky 6.Roll out clay to 1/4 inch thick on a silicone mat lightly dusted with cornstarch. 7.Place your dog’s paw on the clay. Press down gently making sure not to press through the clay. 8.Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes around the paw print. Remove the cutter and excess clay. 9.Using a stamp personalize. 10.Transfer shapes to the prepared baking sheet. 11.You can use a straw or a chopstick to make a hole at the top of the ornament so you can add ribbon later to hang it. 12.The recipe says place them in the oven for an hour at 175F turning them over halfway through cooking. Honestly I think these work best if you air dry them over night or over a couple of days. 13.When dry add ribbon and or paint them. 14. Hang on your tree Happy Pawlidays!! ‼️ DECOR ONLY. NOT A TREAT.
