iPhone 16 Pro Max - Touch Screen Sensitivity Issues

I seem to be having touch screen issues with my new iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Sometimes the key touches aren’t recognised & in general the sensitivity and response to typing just doesn’t seem to up to the usual standard and speed. I’ve swapped to my old iPhone 13PM and you can definitely tell/feel the difference.

I’ve tried a reboot, removing screen protectors & cases but nothing is seeming to help.

I did read on Reddit that this could be a software issue rather than hardware which is what I’m hoping the case may be!

I’m in the exact same situation I went from a 13 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max and it seems delayed with the touchscreen. I definitely notice it when I’m typing on the keyboard, but also on other apps.

What a pain! I was having the same issue sometimes the screen was so unresponsive that I couldn't even swipe on the screen or type correctly. I tried a force restart, but that didn’t work at all. What finally worked was restoring the iPhone using the Mac from this guide 7 Ways to Fix iPhone Touchscreen Issues, and now the screen sensitivity feels much better I hope this helps!

So , nobody is here to say it out loud but I will say it.

18.0.1 is out , did it fix the issue , no!

Did it made it better , yes.

So before , if we say that screen sesitivity is 3/10 , now is 7/10 , but and there is that but.

Backspace is laggy , letters like l , p , m , n , o , they are still wery laggy.

Return is laggy too.....

Backspace is laggy

Also , if you are on viber , or whatsapp , keboard becomes very laggy , so , is it better , yes , is it solved , NO!

Apple has to fix this , othervise, he will lose a lot of customers , me included

That is what I hope too.

but please do understand this.

there are those of us who payed 2000€, and those of is who preordered the phone.

when will we know for sure is it a software update.

since now , the guys from Apple must seen this issue and still they didnt said anything about it publicly.

if its software , good i dont care , but if its hardware , we have a problem

Definitely experiencing ignored taps. It’s not just the issues related to the screen near the new camera button as you can read about elsewhere, it’s ignored keyboard taps, space bar, taps when you hit the archive button on emails (Lower left ) and elsewhere. Have to tap much harder in general than prior phone 13 pro max. It’s hard to do anything but especially type.

I updated to 18.0.1 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. The problem with screen responsiveness is not completely solved for me. Yes, it feels a little better, but it is far from the experience on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, on which everything is perfect with a protective glass. I changed the protective glass on the 16 Pro Max to different ones, the problem still remains. It is very disappointing that such an expensive phone has such a problem ... I am waiting for a solution to this problem in the future. (Why not add a function in the settings to increase screen sensitivity?)

Same for me too. I went from a 14 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max and was totally unsure if it is a screen protector issue. I removed the protector and the „problem“ is still there 😳.

Comparing the sensitivity on the 14 Pro Max and the 16 Pro Max, the deference is clear and notable. The screen on the 14 Pro Max is far sensitive/reliable as on the 16 Pro Max.

Upgraded from an 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max. Also been having this issue and it’s about to send me over the edge. I didn’t see a problem much and then I got my screen protector, same kind I’ve always gotten. Never had this issue before. I turned the sensitivity all the way up and I still have to stab at the screen while trying to type and go slowly to make sure it actually types what I want. For some reason, the spacebar seems to be affected more than the rest of my keyboard. I’m about to lose my marbles 🙃
