Maya Rumsey on Instagram: "I cannot explain fully how exciting this is to me!!!!!! Did anyone know this?? I mean it makes so much sense now I can’t believe I didn’t try it before. I made it so much more complicated than it needed to be.

Probably best to use soda ash or baking soda because of the chlorine off gassing of the salt especially if your kiln is in your home or workspace. It’s still a very low amount when it’s a light wash like this but good to know. Also another reason (of many!!) to make sure your kiln is properly ventilated. Mine is in my detached garage.

I have seriously been thinking about this on and off for at least 5 years but actually probably more. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve tried to google this with no luck.

I have tested out many many MANY things. The Low Fire Clay Projects, Dark Clay Pottery, Make Clay At Home, Baking Soda Clay, Clay At Home, Cornstarch And Water, Clay Bodies, Soda Ash, Beginner Pottery
