[origin: EP1532891A1] The toothbrush (1) is assembled of a long handle (14), a neck area (12, 24), and the bristle head (5, 10). The handle (14) has a central core (28) made of a rigid plastic material which can be perforated and is provided with various ribs (30, 32, 32', 32") protruding laterally and forming alternately positioned spaces (38) between them. The skeleton (16) can either be completely covered by a soft material (20) or by soft segments clinging to the ribs (30, 32, 32', 32"). The outer surface (34) of the handle or the segments is textured with a suitable pattern (46) facilitating a firm grip.
