[origin: WO03095686A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for treating a liquid metal flow. The inventive device comprises a treating ladle (2) consisting of: means of connecting (11, 12, 13, 14) to at least one liquid metal feed chute (15) and to at least one liquid metal discharge chute (16); means of injecting (22, 22a, 22b) a treatment gas into the liquid metal, which are disposed in at least one lateral wall (32, 33) of the ladle (2) and which are located in the upstream part (23) of the treatment compartment (20) of the ladle (2); and at least one first filtration means (40) which is disposed in the downstream part (24) thereof. Each of the liquid metal inlet and outlet means comprises at least one opening (9, 10) which is positioned such that it is disposed completely below the level (26) of the liquid metal being treated, in order to prevent ambient air from entering the compartment during the treatment operation. Said device is compact and can be used for the gas and filtration treatment of a liquid metal flowing through chutes.
