[origin: EP0809010A1] A thrust reversal system consists of a number of flaps (6) which are deployed outwards from the primary turbine housing (10) to deflect the by-pass flow from the annular channel (4) outwards and forwards. The flaps are controlled by inner power cylinders (13) and levers (14), and each one has an inner sliding telescopic panel (7) actuated by an additional power cylinder (15) as the flap opens, extending its length. In a variant of the design the inner panel is extended by a lever connecting its rear edge to the fixed structure of the engine. The front edge of each inner panel is equipped with a deflector (8).
