Printed on semi-gloss thick paper, it measures 18.5cm x 23cm and has an image and text on the reverse. Jill Barklem (1951-2017) was a British writer and illustrator of children's books. Her most famous work is the Brambly Hedge series, published from 1980. She was drawn to the natural world ever since childhood. While training as an illustrator at St Martin's School of Art, her long journeys to college gave her time to escape into the imaginary world of a colony of mice, later to be developed as the enchanting miniature world of Brambly Hedge.
