Key features

Intel-powered instance benefits

Intel architecture delivers the power for compute, networking, and storage. Run AI inference alongside other workloads on Intel® Xeon® CPU instances.

General purpose workloads (N1, N2, C3)

The new C3 machine series are powered by the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor and with Google’s custom Intel IPU. C3 VMs are optimized for the underlying NUMA architecture to deliver highly reliable & consistent performance.

N2 general purpose VMs with 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors offer 30% or better price-performance, for a variety of workloads.

Compute-intensive workloads (C2, H3)

These machines provide the highest performance per core and are optimized for workloads such as high performance computing, game servers, and latency-sensitive API serving.

H3 offers up to x1.8 price / perf over C2D node for HPC workloads and up to x2 price / perf over C2. Offered as full machines, SMT disables with low-latency and high-bandwidth VM-VM networking.

Ultra-high memory (M3, M2, M1)

Memory-optimized machines offer the highest memory configurations with up to 12 TB for a single instance. They are well suited to memory-intensive workloads such as large in-memory databases like SAP HANA, and in-memory data analytics workloads.

3rd Gen Intel Xeon M3 supports up to 3TB local SSD, 2TB Megamem, NUMA-aware for performance and isolation for performance sensitive workloads.

Google Cloud VMware Engine (VE2, VE1)

Easily lift and shift your VMware-based applications to Google Cloud without changes to your apps, tools, or processes.

Google Cloud VMware Engine (VE2) is running on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors providing up to 2048 GB of memory with DDR4 RAM, all-NVMe drives. VE2 nodes will also support large cluster sizes of 32 nodes and 100+ node private clouds.

Google Cloud Storage Optimized VM (Z3)

First ever Google Cloud Storage Optimized VM, 36T of Local SSD, powered by Intel 4th Gen Xeon.
