Hi all,

I have been gambling for 10 years, and last November I quit gambling which lasted successfully for more than 6 months.

A month ago, I came back to the UK from a trip and felt empty and miserable again, and decided to gamble to feel better (the irony).

As a result I added another £4,000 in losses, totalling in £21,000 in 10 years. Fortunately I am sane enough to not spend everything I have on savings and investments and put an end to this.

That is my limit and I am now off to a fresh start, forgetting my losses and focusing ahead.

I believe that being in a healthy environment and having good habits is the key to overcome gambling addiction.

To gamble free life!

Hi Av...

To gamble free life indeed! This addiction is such a complex issue to deal with and I feel your pain and disappointment. I repeated so many times to myself that it will be the last bet until my savings were gone...and debt started to built up. Most importantly and truly scary- my mental health just hit the solid hard ground and I had to make a choice to help myself or ....I guess me typing to you now, you know what I chose.

Gambling has no limits my friend. And it's scary to admit it. It will keep taking and taking...offering false promises..

You sound like you have your head firmly on your shoulders.  That's amazing to read. Don't think of losses..you can't win cause you can't stop right..very true words..keep working hard to get back on your feet because believe me or not, the only income can come from your own work. Nobody gives money away for free, most definitely not Gambling establishments.

Keep up good work! You got this..

One day at a time my friend 😊

Hi SB28,

Thank you for your kind words. Indeed, the only money comes from work and gambling is only losing us money.

It doesn't matter how much anyone has lost, the day they stop gambling is the day they start winning!

Let's keep strong and make sure that this habit stays gone forever.

Keep up!
