Bikol languages
[edit]Hi,
The language map you created for Bikol languages is great but I noticed that you made Partido Bikol a separate language. Partido Bikol is just a dialect within Central Bikol language and should be tagged as "Partido dialect". It is mutually comprehensible with other dialects of Central Bikol such as Canaman dialect, Naga dialect, Tabaco-Legazpi-Sorsogon dialect, Virac dialect and Daet dialect. Thus, the form of Bikol spoken in Partido area should not be considered as a separate language but a dialect.
Thanks.

- Hi, thanks for your input. I'm sure you are aware that there is no wide consensus on the distinction between languages and dialects such as among Philippine languages. One of the most notable studies on Bikol were done by (Lobel, 2013) who interchangeably used "language" and "dialect" for those like Partido and Buhinon. Likewise, I was hoping that you didn't have to remove the image from the article simply due to your dissatisfaction with the image caption. I will rectify the labeling on the article instead. --Pansitkanton (talk) 16:34, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- If that so, then you could've put the name of Lobel as the basis of that map as it different to the studies and concensus done by MacFarland, Blust and lastly, Ethnologue. Sorry but the map will add confusion to the already confusing arrangement of Bikol languages, so putting the name of Lobel will be a great help.
- I also noticed that you've already added the map for Rinconada Bikol language. Thank you so much for your contribution.
