Till date, very few researches have been conducted linking organisational religiosity, spirituality and workplace culture. The purpose of this paper is to present organisational religiosity and spirituality as an emergent construct to enhance holistic transcendence of employees. This paper presents a conceptual analysis of the effects of religiosity and spirituality on the culture of organizations which affects the overall work-environment, job satisfaction and performance of employees. Furthermore, the reviews provide ample evidence that when spirituality is considered in an organisation, it provides positive results to the organisation like organisational profitability, employee productivity and higher ethical standards. This paper developed some propositions that can be tested through empirical research in future. A conceptual framework is presented, showing the relationship between religiosity and spirituality as both individual and organizational factors as well as their connection to organizational culture. The implications for professional practice are discussed.

Many industrial behemoths have fallen due to company cultures that bred incompetence and ignorance of their environmental realities. This paper showcases a review of some of the key qualitative and quantitative instruments used for successful investigation of organizational culture. The paper sheds light on the conceptualization and benefits of each instrument within organizational culture so as to push companies for further growth that is sustainable in the long run. The study concludes that the degree to which any instrument can be suitably applied by today's organizations depends on the particular rationale for which it is to be used by each company and the context within which it is to be applied.
This study assesses the impact of self-reliance, family planning decisions and media exposure on ... more This study assesses the impact of self-reliance, family planning decisions and media exposure on the empowerment of women entrepreneurs, based on a study using 130 respondents from 4 States in South India. Self-reliance empowerment index, Family planning empowerment index, Media exposure index were calculated to find their impact on empowerment. The significant difference among the four groups of respondents regarding their empowerment indices were analyzed with the help of ANOVA. Regression analysis was used to analyze the extent of influence empowerment indices had on the overall empowerment of respondents. The analysis shows that self reliance empowerment index was moderate, the family planning empowerment index was low and the media exposure empowerment index was moderate. It was also apparent that the empowerment indices had an impact on the overall empowerment of respondents. The research provides insights on how to improve the empowerment of women entrepreneurs.

The people of this country are defined by their religious beliefs, in every aspect of their life. With the fast pace of industrialization and economic growth, the demands on the working class has increased more than ever. Today there is a huge increase in work-related physical and mental disorders that are affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of employees. This study seeks to analyze an area that researchers and Human Resource professionals have given very less consideration to the link between religiosity, spirituality and organizational commitment. The study hypothesizes that employees with high religiosity would have lesser affective, continuance, and normative commitments to their organization as compared to less religious (or non-religious) individuals. The solution is of course, not to focus on recruiting non-religious employees but rather to promote spirituality, that is found to have a higher rate of employee work commitment and an ability to reduce the negative effects of religiosity on the organization.
