- “Prescriber Density†denotes the number of providers in the IQVIA data who prescribed at least one antidepressant to an individual under age 20 in 2010 in each school’s shooting-exposed area per 1,000 individuals under age 20; “Non-Prescriber Density†denotes the county-level number of psychologists and social workers in 2015 per 1,000 children aged 0–17 as reported by the CDC. The shooting-exposed (reference) areas include providers practicing 0–5 (10–15) miles from an affected school. All regressions only consider fatal school shootings, consider a two-year follow-up window, and are weighted by school enrollment. Standard errors (reported in parentheses) are clustered at the school-by-area level. For ease of comparison, Column (1) replicates our baseline results from Table 2.
