MoEDAL search in the CMS beam pipe for magnetic monopoles produced via the Schwinger effect / MoEDAL Collaboration
We report on a search for magnetic monopoles (MMs) produced in ultraperipheral Pb--Pb collisions during Run-1 of the LHC. The beam pipe surrounding the interaction region of the CMS experiment was exposed to 184.07 µ b$^{-1}$ of Pb--Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV center-of-mass energy per collision in December 2011, before being removed in 2013. [...]

Search for Highly-Ionizing Particles in pp Collisions During LHC Run-2 Using the Full MoEDAL Detector / MoEDAL Collaboration
This search for Magnetic Monopoles (MMs) and High Electric Charge Objects (HECOs) with spins 0, 1/2 and 1, uses for the first time the full MoEDAL detector, exposed to 6.6 fb^-1 proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV. [...]

We study the vacuum dynamics of pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons (pNGBs) for $SO(N+1) \rightarrow SO(N)$ spontaneous and explicit symmetry breaking. We determine the magnitude of explicit symmetry breaking consistent with an EFT description of the effective potential at zero and finite temperatures. [...]

MoEDAL-MAPP, an LHC Dedicated Detector Search Facility / MoEDAL-MAPP Collaboration
During LHC's Run-2 the MoEDAL experiment, the LHC's first dedicated search experiment, took over 6 fb^-1 of data at IP8, with p-p and Pb-Pb collisions, operating with 100% efficiency. [...]

Long-lived highly charged particles at Run 3 and High Luminosity LHC / Maselek, Rafal (Warsaw U.) ; Altakach, Mohammad Mahdi (Warsaw U.) ; Lamba, Priyanka (Warsaw U.) ; Sakurai, Kazuki (Warsaw U.) ; Mitsou, Vasiliki (Valencia U., IFIC)
We investigate the discovery prospects for scalar and fermionic particles with electric charges $1\mathrm{e} \le |Q| \le 8\mathrm{e}$ that are singlet under $ \mathrm{SU}(2)_L $. We calculate lower mass bounds for open channel production mode coming from ATLAS/CMS and MoEDAL experiments, and limits from searches for positronium-like bound states (closed channel) decaying to two photons. Search for highly-ionizing particles in $pp$ collisions at the LHC’s Run-1 using the prototype MoEDAL detector / MoEDAL Collaboration
A search for highly electrically charged objects (HECOs) and magnetic monopoles is presented using 2.2 fb-1 of p - p collision data taken at a centre of mass energy (ECM) of 8 TeV by the MoEDAL detector during LHC's Run-1. The data were collected using MoEDAL's prototype Nuclear Track Detector array and the Trapping Detector array. [...]

Goldstone Boson Decays and Chiral Anomalies / Pokorski, Stefan (Warsaw U.) ; Sakurai, Kazuki (Warsaw U.)
Martinus Veltman was the first to point out the inconsistency of the experimental value for the decay rate of $\pi^0\rightarrow\gamma\gamma$ and its calculation by J. Steinberger with the very successful concept of the pion as the (pseudo)Nambu-Goldstone boson of the spontaneously broken global axial symmetry of strong interactions. [...]

Probing extended Higgs sectors by the synergy between direct searches at the LHC and precision tests at future lepton colliders / Aiko, Masashi (Osaka U.) ; Kanemura, Shinya (Osaka U.) ; Kikuchi, Mariko (NIT, Kitakyushu Coll.) ; Mawatari, Kentarou (Iwate U.) ; Sakurai, Kodai (Karlsruhe U., ITP) ; Yagyu, Kei (Osaka U.)
We discuss a possibility that the parameter space of the two Higgs doublet model is significantly narrowed down by considering the synergy between direct searches for additional Higgs bosons at the LHC and its luminosity upgraded operation and precision measurements of the Higgs boson properties at future electron-positron colliders such as the International Linear Collider. We show that, in the case where the coupling constants of the discovered Higgs boson are slightly different from the predicted values in the standard model, most of the parameter space is explored by the direct searches of extra Higgs bosons, in particular for the decays of the extra Higgs bosons into the discovered Higgs boson, and also by the theoretical arguments such as perturbative unitarity and vacuum stability. Physical theories that depend on many parameters or are tested against data from many different experiments pose unique challenges to statistical inference. Many models in particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology fall into one or both of these categories. [...]
