/ Taylor, Kelyan (U. Colorado, Boulder) ; Elliott, Amanda (Rochester U.) ; Wang, Xu (U. Colorado, Boulder) ; Horanyi, Mihaly (U. Colorado, Boulder) ; Schmidt, Rudiger (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Wollmann, Daniel (CERN) ; Wiesner, Christoph (CERN) ; Belanger, Philippe (TRIUMF)
We present a laboratory study of photoelectric charging of dust particles and their lofting on a conducting surface in the presence of external electric fields. Insulating particles with diameter <45 μm are dispersed on a conducting surface exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. [...]

Design and testing of an sTGC ASIC interface board for the ATLAS New Small Wheel upgrade
/ Wang, Xu (CUST, SKLPDE ; Hefei, CUST ; Michigan U.) ; Guan, Liang (Michigan U.) ; Sun, Siyuan (Michigan U.) ; Zhou, Bing (Michigan U.) ; Zhu, Junjie (Michigan U.) ; Jin, Ge (CUST, SKLPDE ; Hefei, CUST)
The ATLAS experiment will replace the present Small Wheel (SW) detector with a New Small Wheel detector (NSW) aiming to improve the performance of muon triggering and precision tracking in the endcap region at the High-Luminosity LHC. Small-strip Thin Gap Chamber (sTGC) is one of the two new detector technologies used in this upgrade. [...]

The Improved Design of Multi-channel Thin Gap Chamber Simulation Signal Source for the ATLAS Detector Upgrade
/ Hu, Kun (Hefei, CUST) ; Lu, Hou-Bing (Hefei, CUST) ; Wang, Xu (Hefei, CUST) ; Li, Feng (Hefei, CUST) ; Han, Liang (Hefei, CUST) ; Jin, Ge (Hefei, CUST)
We develop an improved design of thin gap chamber (TGC) simulation signal source. To further simulate the feature of TGC detector, a novel thought is proposed. [...]

Supersymmetry dileptons and trileptons at the Fermilab Tevatron
/ Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN) ; Wang, Xu (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Zichichi, A. (CERN)
We consider the production of supersymmetry neutralinos and charginos in $p\bar p$ collisions at the Tevatron, and their subsequent decay via hadronically quiet dileptons and trileptons. We perform our computations in the context of a variety of supergravity models, including generic four-parameter supergravity models, the minimal $SU(5)$ supergravity model, and $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity with string inspired two- and one-parameter moduli and dilaton scenarios. Direct detection of dark matter in SU(5) x U(1) supergravity
/ Wang, Xu (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN)
We compute the scattering rates for the lightest neutralino $\chi~0_1$ in the forthcoming germanium $(~{73}{\rm Ge}+~{76}{\rm Ge})$ detector and a proposed lead detector $(~{207}{\rm Pb})$, within the framework of $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity. We find that in only a small portion ($\lsim10\%$) of the parameter spaces of this class of models, are the rates in the germanium detector above the expected initial experimental sensitivity of 0.1 events/kg/day. New constraints on supergravity models from b --> s$\gamma$
/ Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN) ; Wang, Xu (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Zichichi, A. (CERN)
We perform a detailed study of the constraints from $b\to s\gamma$ on a large class of supergravity models, including generic four-parameter supergravity models, the minimal $SU(5)$ supergravity model, and $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity. For each point in the parameter spaces of these models we obtain a range of $B(b\to s\gamma)$ values which should conservatively account for the unknown next-to-leading-order QCD corrections. [...]
