Towards Machine-Learning Particle Flow with the ATLAS Detector at the LHC / Clissa, Luca (Universita e INFN, Bologna (IT)) ; Swiatlowski, Maximilian J (TRIUMF (CA)) ; Vivarelli, Iacopo (Universita e INFN, Bologna (IT)) ; Bohm, Jessica (TRIUMF (CA)) ; Jovanovic, Marko ; Himmens, Joshua Jon (TRIUMF (CA)) /ATLAS Collaboration
Particle flow reconstruction at colliders combines various detector subsystems (typically the calorimeter and tracker) to provide a combined event interpretation that utilizes the strength of each detector. The accurate association of redundant measurements of the same particle between detectors is the key challenge in this technique. [...]

First bulk and surface results for the ATLAS ITk stereo annulus sensors / ATLAS Collaboration
A novel microstrip sensor geometry, the “stereo annulus”, has been developed for use in the end-cap of the ATLAS experiment’s strip tracker upgrade at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL- LHC). The radiation-hard, single-sided, ac-coupled, n + -in-p microstrip sensors are designed by the ITk Strip Sensor Collaboration and produced by Hamamatsu Photonics. [...]

The “ATLAS ITk Strip Sensor Collaboration” R&D; group has developed a second iteration of single-sided n + -in-p type micro-strip sensors for use in the tracker upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at the High-Luminosity (HL) LHC. The full size sensors measure approximately 97×97mm2 and are designed for tolerance against the 1.1×1015neq/cm2 fluence expected at the HL-LHC. [...]

The ATLAS group has evaluated the charge collection in silicon microstrip sensors irradiated up to a fluence of 1×1016 n eq /cm 2 , exceeding the maximum of 1.6×1015 n eq /cm 2 expected for the strip tracker during the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) period including a safety factor of 2. The ATLAS12, n + -on-p type sensor, which is fabricated by Hamamatsu Photonics (HPK) on float zone (FZ) substrates, is the latest barrel sensor prototype. [...]
