Effective Theory Approach for Axion Wormholes
/ Cheong, Dhong Yeon (IPAP, Seoul ; Yonsei U. ; CERN) ; Park, Seong Chan (IPAP, Seoul ; Yonsei U. ; Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul) ; Shin, Chang Sub (Chungnam Natl. U. ; IBS, Daejeon, CTPU ; Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul)
We employ the effective field theory approach to analyze the characteristics of Euclidean wormholes within axion theories. Using this approach, we obtain non-perturbative instantons in various complex scalar models with and without a non-minimal coupling to gravity, as well as models featuring the $R^2$ term for a range of coupling values. We study the kinetic mixing between the cosmic microwave background (CMB) photon and the birefringent dark photon. These birefringent dark photon may exist in parity-violating dark sector, for example, through the coupling to axion field. [...]

Missing information search with deep learning for mass estimation

We introduce DeeLeMa, a deep learning-based network for the analysis of energy and momentum in high-energy particle collisions. This novel approach is specifically designed to address the challenge of analyzing collision events with multiple invisible particles, which are prevalent in many high-energy physics experiments. Axion quality problem and nonminimal gravitational coupling in the Palatini formulation
/ Cheong, Dhong Yeon (IPAP, Seoul ; Yonsei U.) ; Hamaguchi, Koichi (Tokyo U. ; Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Kanazawa, Yoshiki (Tokyo U.) ; Lee, Sung Mook (IPAP, Seoul ; Yonsei U. ; CERN) ; Nagata, Natsumi (Tokyo U.) ; Park, Seong Chan (IPAP, Seoul ; Yonsei U. ; Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul)
In axion models, the global U(1) Peccei-Quinn (PQ) symmetry is explicitly broken by non-perturbative effects of gravity, such as axionic wormholes. The gravitational violation of the PQ symmetry due to wormholes is large enough to invalidate the PQ mechanism, which is entitled as the axion quality problem. [...]

Non-minimally assisted chaotic inflation
/ Hyun, Sang Chul (Yonsei U. ; IPAP, Seoul) ; Kim, Jinsu (CERN) ; Park, Seong Chan (Yonsei U. ; Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul) ; Takahashi, Tomo (Saga U., Japan)
Conventional wisdom says that a chaotic inflation model with a power-law potential is ruled out by the recent Planck-BICEP/Keck results. We find, however, that the model can be assisted by a non-minimally coupled scalar field and still provides a successful inflation. [...]

Beyond the Starobinsky model for inflation
/ Cheong, Dhong Yeon (Yonsei U.) ; Lee, Hyun Min (Chung-Ang U. ; CERN) ; Park, Seong Chan (Yonsei U.)
We single out the Starobinsky model and its extensions among generic $f(R)$ gravity as attractors at large field values for chaotic inflation. Treating a $R^3$ curvature term as a perturbation of the Starobinsky model, we impose the phenomenological bounds on the additional term satisfying the successful inflationary predictions. [...]

Report from Working Group 3 : Beyond the Standard Model physics at the HL-LHC and HE-LHC
/ Cid Vidal, Xabier (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; D'Onofrio, Monica (Liverpool U.) ; Fox, Patrick J (Fermilab) ; Torre, Riccardo (CERN ; INFN, Genoa) ; Ulmer, Keith A (Colorado U.) ; Aboubrahim, Amin (Northeastern U.) ; Albert, Andreas (RWTH Aachen U.) ; Alimena, Juliette (Ohio State U., Columbus (main)) ; Allanach, Benjamin C (Cambridge U., DAMTP) ; Alpigiani, Cristiano (Washington U., Seattle) et al.
This is the third out of five chapters of the final report [1] of the Workshop on Physics at HL-LHC, and perspectives on HE-LHC [2]. It is devoted to the study of the potential, in the search for Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics, of the High Luminosity (HL) phase of the LHC, defined as $3$ ab$^{-1}$ of data taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV, and of a possible future upgrade, the High Energy (HE) LHC, defined as $15$ ab$^{-1}$ of data at a centre-of-mass energy of 27 TeV.
