The upgrade of the CMS detector for the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will include gas electron multiplier (GEM) detectors in the end-cap muon spectrometer. Due to the limited supply of large area GEM detectors, the Korean CMS (KCMS) collaboration had formed a consortium with Mecaro Co., Ltd. to serve as a supplier of GEM foils with area of approximately 0.6 m$^{2}$. The consortium has developed a double-mask etching technique for production of these large-sized GEM foils. This article describes the production, quality control, and quality assessment (QA/QC) procedures and the mass production status for the GEM foils. [...]

The series of upgrades to the Large Hadron Collider, culminating in the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, will enable a significant expansion of the physics program of the CMS experiment. However, the accelerator upgrades will also make the experimental conditions more challenging, with implications for detector operations, triggering, and data analysis. [...]

Study of dijet events with a large rapidity gap between the two leading jets in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Events with no charged particles produced between the two leading jets are studied in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV. The jets were required to have transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}^{\text{jet}}$ > 40 GeV and pseudorapidity 1.5 $<|\eta^{\text{jet}}| <$ 4.7, and to have values of $\eta^{\text{jet}}$ with opposite signs. Search for natural supersymmetry in events with top quark pairs and photons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from a search for natural gauge-mediated supersymmetry (SUSY) in a scenario in which the top squark is the lightest squark, the next-to-lightest SUSY particle is a bino-like neutralino, and the lightest SUSY particle is the gravitino. The strong production of top squark pairs can produce events with pairs of top quarks and neutralinos, with each bino-like neutralino decaying to a photon and a gravitino. [...]

A search for Higgs boson pair production in the $\mathrm{ b }\mathrm{ b }\tau\tau$ final state in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from a search for production of Higgs boson pairs (HH) where one boson decays to a pair of b quarks and the other to a $\tau$ lepton pair. This work is based on proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at $ \sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 18.3 fb$^{-1}$. [...]

Measurement of charged pion, kaon, and proton production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Transverse momentum spectra of charged pions, kaons, and protons are measured in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The particles, identified via their energy loss in the silicon tracker, are measured in the transverse momentum range of pt ~ 0.1-1.7 GeV and rapidities abs(y) < 1. [...]

Exclusive and semi-exclusive $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A measurement is presented of the exclusive and semi-exclusive production of charged pion pairs in proton-proton collisions, $\mathrm{ p p }\to\mathrm{ p }({\mathrm{p}^*} )+ \pi^{+}\pi^{-}+ \mathrm{ p } ({\mathrm{p}^*} )$, where the $\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ pair is emitted at central rapidities, and the scattered protons stay intact ($\mathrm{p}$) or diffractively dissociate (${\mathrm{p}^*} $) without detection. Suppression of Excited $\Upsilon$ States Relative to the Ground State in Pb-Pb Collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$=5.02 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The relative yields of $\Upsilon$ mesons produced in pp and PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV and reconstructed via the dimuon decay channel are measured using data collected by the CMS experiment. Double ratios are formed by comparing the yields of the excited states, $\Upsilon$(2S) and $\Upsilon$(3S), to the ground state, $\Upsilon$(1S), in both PbPb and pp collisions at the same center-of-mass energy.
