Benchmark evaluation of a single frequency continuous wave OPO seeded pulsed dye amplifier for high-resolution laser spectroscopy / Urquiza-González, M (Unlisted, DE) ; Au, M (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Bernerd, C (Leuven U.) ; Bissell, M (Manchester U.) ; van den Borne, B (Leuven U.) ; Chrysalidis, K (CERN) ; Cocolios, T E (Leuven U.) ; Fedosseev, V N (CERN) ; Flanagan, K T (Manchester U.) ; Garcia Ruiz, R G (MIT) et al.
The study of the atomic spectrum via resonant laser excitation provides access to underlying effects caused by the nuclear structure, which is of special interest in short-lived radioisotopes produced at Isotope Separator On-Line (ISOL) facilities. Current implementations of resonant laser ionization techniques often limit the extraction of the nuclear observables due to the low spectral resolution of the pulsed laser systems deployed. [...]

Molecules containing heavy radioactive nuclei are predicted to be extremely sensitive to violations of the fundamental symmetries of nature. The nuclear octupole deformation of certain radium isotopes massively boosts the sensitivity of radium monofluoride molecules to symmetry-violating nuclear properties. [...]

Radiative lifetime of the A 2Π1/2 state in RaF with relevance to laser cooling / ISOLDE Collaboration
The radiative lifetime of the $A$$^2 \Pi_{1/2}$ (v=0) state in radium monofluoride (RaF) is measured to be 35(1) ns. The lifetime of this state and the related decay rate $\Gamma = 2.86(8) \times 10^7$$s^{-1}$ are of relevance to the laser cooling of RaF via the optically closed $A$$^2 \Pi_{1/2} \leftarrow X$$^2\Sigma_{1/2}$ transition, which makes the molecule a promising probe to search for new physics. Voltage scanning and technical upgrades at the Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy experiment / Athanasakis-Kaklamanakis, Michail (CERN ; Leuven U.) ; Reilly, Jordan R. (Manchester U.) ; Koszorús, Ágota (CERN) ; Wilkins, Shane G. (MIT) ; Lalanne, Louis (Leuven U.) ; Geldhof, Sarina (Leuven U.) ; Nichols, Miranda (Goteborg, ITP) ; Wang, Quanjun (Lanzhou U. To optimize the performance of the Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (CRIS) experiment at CERN-ISOLDE, technical upgrades are continuously introduced, aiming to enhance its sensitivity, precision, stability, and efficiency. Recently, a voltage-scanning setup was developed and commissioned at CRIS, which improved the scanning speed by a factor of three as compared to the current laser-frequency scanning approach. [...]

Investigating radioactive negative ion production via double electron capture / Nichols, M (Goteborg, ITP) ; Athanasakis-Kaklamanakis, M (CERN ; Leuven U.) ; Borschevsky, A (Groningen U.) ; Cocolios, T E (Leuven U.) ; Crosa-Rossa, R (Groningen U.) ; de Groote, R P (Leuven U.) ; Flanagan, K T (Manchester U.) ; Ruiz, R F Garcia (MIT) ; Geldhof, S (Leuven U.) ; Hanstorp, D (Goteborg, ITP) et al.
The relative cross sections for radioactive negative ion production via double electron capture have been measured for collisions between a 40 keV projectile beam of uranium-238 and potassium vapor. This was performed at the collinear resonance ionization spectroscopy (CRIS) experiment at CERN-ISOLDE and is a step towards measuring the electron affinities (EAs) of elements that cannot be efficiently produced in negative ion sources at radioactive ion beam (RIB) facilities.
