Low dose gamma irradiation study of ATLAS ITk MD8 diodes / ATLAS Collaboration
Silicon strip detectors developed for the Inner Tracker (ITk) of the ATLAS experiment will operate in a harsh radiation environment of the HL-LHC accelerator. The ITk is thus designed to endure a total fluence of 1.6×1015 1 MeV neq/cm2 and a total ionizing dose (TID) of 66 Mrad in the strip detector region. [...]

Gamma irradiation of ATLAS18 ITk strip sensors affected by static charge / ATLAS ITK Collaboration
Construction of the new all-silicon Inner Tracker (ITk), developed by the ATLAS collaboration to be able to track charged particles produced at the High-Luminosity LHC, started in 2021 and is expected to continue until 2028. The ITk detector will include ~18,000 highly segmented and radiation hard n$^+$-in-p silicon strip sensors, which are being manufactured by Hamamatsu Photonics. [...]

The hypothetical track-length fitting algorithm for energy measurement in liquid argon TPCs / DUNE Collaboration
This paper introduces the hypothetical track-length fitting algorithm, a novel method for measuring the kinetic energies of ionizing particles in liquid argon time projection chambers (LArTPCs). The algorithm finds the most probable offset in track length for a track-like object by comparing the measured ionization density as a function of position with a theoretical prediction of the energy loss as a function of the energy, including models of electron recombination and detector response. DUNE Phase II: Scientific Opportunities, Detector Concepts, Technological Solutions / DUNE Collaboration
The international collaboration designing and constructing the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) at the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) has developed a two-phase strategy toward the implementation of this leading-edge, large-scale science project. The 2023 report of the US Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel (P5) reaffirmed this vision and strongly endorsed DUNE Phase I and Phase II, as did the European Strategy for Particle Physics. Performance study of ATLAS ITk strip endcap modules using charged particle beams / ATLAS Collaboration
The current Inner Detector of the ATLAS experiment is to be replaced with the all-silicon Inner Tracker (ITk), built from pixel and strip modules, to cope with high pile-up and harsh radiation environment expected during the operation of the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). During prototyping and early production phases of the ITk project, the performance of all types of ITk strip modules has been extensively evaluated using high-energy electron or hadron beams available at the DESY II and CERN SPS test beam facilities. [...]

First measurement of the total inelastic cross section of positively charged kaons on argon at energies between 5.0 and 7.5 GeV / DUNE Collaboration
ProtoDUNE Single-Phase (ProtoDUNE-SP) is a 770-ton liquid argon time projection chamber that operated in a hadron test beam at the CERN Neutrino Platform in 2018. We present a measurement of the total inelastic cross section of charged kaons on argon as a function of kaon energy using 6 and 7 GeV/$c$ beam momentum settings. [...]

Shower Separation in Five Dimensions for Highly Granular Calorimeters using Machine Learning / CALICE Collaboration
To achieve state-of-the-art jet energy resolution for Particle Flow, sophisticated energy clustering algorithms must be developed that can fully exploit available information to separate energy deposits from charged and neutral particles. Three published neural network-based shower separation models were applied to simulation and experimental data to measure the performance of the highly granular CALICE Analogue Hadronic Calorimeter (AHCAL) technological prototype in distinguishing the energy deposited by a single charged and single neutral hadron for Particle Flow. Software Compensation for Highly Granular Calorimeters using Machine Learning / CALICE Collaboration
A neural network for software compensation was developed for the highly granular CALICE Analogue Hadronic Calorimeter (AHCAL). The neural network uses spatial and temporal event information from the AHCAL and energy information, which is expected to improve sensitivity to shower development and the neutron fraction of the hadron shower.
