Active dosimetry for VHEE FLASH radiotherapy using beam profile monitors and charge measurements / Rieker, Vilde F (CERN ; Oslo U.) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Stapnes, Steinar (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (Oslo U.) ; Farabolini, Wilfrid (CERN) ; Grilj, Veljko (SUBATECH, Nantes) ; Sjobak, Kyrre N (Oslo U.) ; Wroe, Laurence M (CERN) ; Aksoy, Avni (CERN ; Ankara U.) ; Robertson, Cameron S (Oxford U.) et al.
The discovery of the FLASH effect has revealed a high potential for treating cancer more efficiently by sparing healthy tissue. The surge in related medical research activities over the last couple of years has triggered a demand for technology with the capability of generating and measuring ionizing radiation at ultra-high doserates (UHDR). $\gamma\gamma$ Beam-beam Parameter Study for a 3 TeV PWFA Linear Collider / Chen, Jian Bin Ben (CERN ; Oslo U.) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (Oslo U.)
Our beam-beam parameter study using beam-beam simulations and PWFA (particle-driven plasma acceleration) beam parameters indicates that at 3 TeV, for examined electron beam lengths ${2~\mu\mathrm{m}\leq\sigma_z\leq 10~\mu\mathrm{m}}$, the total luminosity, as well as the sharpness of the luminosity spectrum for a $\gamma\gamma$ collider are independent of the beam length of the electron beams used to scatter the photons, given that the hourglass effect is avoided. $\mathrm{e}^+$$\mathrm{e}^-$ Beam-beam Parameter Study for a TeV-scale PWFA Linear Collider / Chen, Jian Bin Ben (CERN ; U. Oslo (main)) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (U. Oslo (main))
We perform a beam-beam parameter study for a TeV-scale PWFA (particle-driven plasma wakefield acceleration) $\mathrm{e}^+$ $\mathrm{e}^-$ linear collider using GUINEA-PIG simulations. [...]

Proton-Beam-Driven Plasma Acceleration / Adli, Erik (Oslo U.) ; Muggli, Patric (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
We describe the main ideas, promises and challenges related to proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration. Existing high-energy proton beams have the potential to accelerate electron beams to the TeV scale in a single plasma stage. [...]

Shaping trailing beams for beam loading via beam-induced-ionization injection at FACET / Amorim, Lígia Diana (SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Vafaei-Najafabadi, Navid (SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Emma, Claudio (SLAC) ; Clarke, Christine I (SLAC) ; Green, Selina Z (SLAC) ; Storey, Doug (SLAC) ; White, Glen (SLAC) ; O'Shea, Brendan (SLAC) ; Hogan, Mark J (SLAC) ; Yakimenko, Vitaly (SLAC) et al.
Recent progress in plasma based accelerator technology has demonstrated its ability to deliver high energy (GeV) beams in compact structures (centimeter to meter scale plasmas). Current developments of that technology are oriented toward producing beams with quality and energy spread comparable to those obtained using standard accelerating structures. [...]

The CERN Linear Electron Accelerator for Research (CLEAR) has now finished its second year of operation, providing a testbed for new accelerator technologies and a versatile radiation source. Hosting a varied experimental program, this beamline provides a flexible test facility for users both internal and external to CERN, as well as being an excellent accelerator physics training ground. Loading of Wakefields in a Plasma Accelerator Section Driven by a Self-Modulated Proton Beam / Berglyd Olsen, Veronica (U. Oslo (main)) ; Adli, Erik (U. Oslo (main)) ; Muggli, Patric (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; CERN) ; Vieira, Jorge (Lisbon, IST)
Using parameters from the AWAKE project and particle-in-cell simulations we investigate beam loading of a plasma wake driven by a self-modulated proton beam. Addressing the case of injection of an electron witness bunch after the drive beam has already experienced self-modulation in a previous plasma, we optimise witness bunch parameters of size, charge and injection phase to maximise energy gain and minimise relative energy spread and emittance of the accelerated bunch..
