Abstract | The current STXS stage-1.2 binning is not sensitive to the charge-parity properties of the Higgs boson. Parallel to the ongoing effort to finalize the STXS stage-1.3 bins, the ATLAS experiment has studied the potential for measuring CP-sensitive STXS-like bins the $H\rightarrow WW^*$ decay channel. This can be done by measuring cross-sections in bins of the signed azimuthal separation between the two leading jets, and by considering both the ggF and VBF production modes, CP-odd anomalous modifications to both Higgs-$V$ and Higgs-gluon effective couplings may be studied simultaneously. These anomalous effects are characterized by Effective Field Theory operators in the Warsaw basis and considering only the linear term from the SM-BSM interference. This note focuses on the motivation of the STXS-like binning and provides an overview of how CP violation may be probed using this strategy. |
