Feedback of AGCO Revised Advertising Standards Guidance Document
Following on previously provided submissions on the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s (AGCO) proposed revisions to the iGaming advertising standards and the Canadian Gaming Association’s (CGA’s) participation in the roundtables on proposed guidance, we reiterated our position in the feedback we submitted on January 16. Our feedback restated that the changes to the AGCO’s advertising standards will have significant impact on those operators who have made the greatest level of investment in the Ontario marketplace through investments in partnerships, developing unique, Ontario-specific creative and made use of local personalities. CGA members continue to be troubled about the cumulative impact of regulatory and conduct & manage costs and other requirements that create additional disincentives to join the regulated market and provide black-market operators with an unfair advantage. The CGA has repeated our request for ongoing dialogue and consultation with the AGCO on this important issue.
