Kawaii Subcultures 🖤

Kawaii (かわいい) is a Japanese term and aesthetic referring to the unique concept affirming childlike and pretty things that make your heart flutter. It is distinct in that it's so diversified that it has spawned many subgenres which often are far removed from the original concept. The kawaii aesthetic is also a staple in J-fashion, and many of its derivative sub-aesthetics originate from the Harajuku neighborhood and surrounding Shibuya district of Tokyo.
