Striking all summer long, Actaea simplex 'Pink Spike' (Baneberry) is a beautiful perennial with chocolate-purple, finely divided foliage, enhanced by gracefully arching wands of fragrant pink flowers in late summer and fall.

Kniphofia uvaria originates from the Cape Province of South Africa and has been introduced into many parts of the world. It is also known as Tritoma or Red Hot Poker due to the shape and color of its inflorescence which can grow up to 1.52 m in height. There are many varieties of torch lily, and the flowers are red, orange, and yellow. This picture was taken at Ooty Flower Show 2013.
