Great Power Supply!
5 out of 5 stars
Great Power Supply!
I've been running this unit since 2020, I did warranty exchange after Corsair released recall information and mine was one of the affected units. That was a hassle free, no questions asked exchange. It started life on a 5800x and 1080ti and has grown into my current 5800x3d and 7900xtx custom loop build. Runs the system perfectly, however (to be expected) there is no room for OC'ing the GPU, like nada, I tried and would have random power failures. I'm cool with GPU as it is, runs everything I need it to and then some.Cable management is easy with the included modular styling cables. What else can I say? It's a great PSU, I'm planning on upgrading to the SF1000 soon in preparation for future upgrades.Cheers!

A few things to note this is an SFX-L PSU which puts it in between ATX and SFX (I added photos for comparison). This is designed for mini and micro ATX towers not really mid or full towers.

I put this in a Lian Li 011 Mini as it requires an SFX or SFX-L and I wanted a 1000w PSU for future proof once I finish upgrading my system. Installation was easy but will vary based on your system.

So far this PSU has been running great. It runs quite since it doesn't turn the fan on until it reaches a certain temperature. I ran a stress test for almost 4 minutes before the fan kicked on and it ran quite even with the fan running.

Another thing to note is the cables are very short as this is designed for smaller cases and they use a proprietary connector that are smaller than regular psu cables.

If you are looking for a small yet powerful PSU I would fully recommend this one just be aware of the limitations of the cable length.

Corsair makes good-quality products. I've got keyboards, mice, and headsets from Corsair and have been very happy with them.

Well.... I recently bought a new graphics card for my video editing computer, and with the card, I figured I should probably buy a new power supply as well. I bought this one. It's modular, meaning it comes with an assortment of inter-changeable cables, you only use the cables you need. I loved the fact that it came with a generous supply of cable ties.

Unbeknownst to me when I ordered this item, is there are a couple different sizes of power supplies. This particular one, while it had all the connections I needed, is designed for a small, compact computer case or mini tower. I have a standard-sized case. While the unit fit NICELY in my case with LOTS of room to spare, the problem was that the cables were nowhere near long enough! D'OH! So I ended up sending this model back and ordering a different power supply, one that was made for a regular-sized computer case. (Yes, the new power supply was also from Corsair, and it works great!)

    750w version 5 stars.
    1000w version 3 stars.

Had the 750w version in my NR200 build for the last year or so. Great PSU, 5 stars all around. Did not hesitate to buy the 1000w when I got a 4080 super this week.

Now I knew the 1000w was an SFXL and would be a little longer. What I wasn't expecting was the cables to be completely different.

The 750w has nice braided cables that are super easy to manage. The 1000w has crappy plastic coated cables that are so stiff I couldn't route them properly. The plugs are also much cheaper quality and I couldn't even get the 24 pin to seat properly. And while the cables are the same length on both power supplies, I found the 1000w version couldn't reach my 8 pin on my motherboard without going across the middle of the case, I couldn't run it behind the motherboard tray like the 750w version because the cables don't flex enough.

I originally bought the Cooler Master SFX Gold to replace my aging and dying power supply. It's a top tier power supply with great components at a fantastic price, but it wasn't quiet enough for me. I could hear it at idle.

This was worth spending the extra $45 on over the Cooler Master. Dead silent even with your ear pressed up against it.

One complaint: The pins on the cables are tangled. The cable starts on the left side of one connector and then goes all the way to the right side of the opposite connector. All of the cables are like this! This makes combed cables difficult, and it's a common complaint about this power supply. As soon as the cables disappear behind my motherboard tray, they turn into a twisted mess so that they reach the right pins.

I'm using this in an ATX build, for which you will need extensions. I'm using $20 extension kit I found on Amazon, works great.
