Takanuva on a Whole New Level!

Written by (KFOL) in United States,

This is my review of Phantoka/Mistika Takanuva. So, first we're gonna look at the colors. I don't really like them. Instead of the classic gold and white, we have a "Shadow Infection" look, so they replaced the gold with gunmetal. Next, we have size. This guy is one of the biggest Bionicles EVER! He's about a foot (maybe even longer) long! He could probably kill Teridax in one hit! Next, it's weapons. He has the standard Phantoka blaster. He also has a "Power Lance", which has a spinning feature. Personally, I think this was an afterthought to give Takanuva more gimmicks. I feel that the Power Lance is short for my taste, but that can be fixed with some connectors and rods. His mask is a nice update from the original mask. He of course wears the Avohkii, the Great Mask of Light. But if you read colors, you'll find out that his mask is gunmetal instead of gold.

    Pros:

    -Huge!

    -articulation

    - weapons

    -detail

    Cons:

    - gunmetal instead of gold

    - short Power Lance

    -More/better weapons?

    Hasn't been released yet

Written by (KFOL) in United States,

So, this set hasn't been released yet, so I'm gonna do a blind review. As in, I'm going to review this set based off of pictures I've seen. Also, I just randomly rated this thing. XD

First off, the pieces. The fists are new, and they have been molded so that they have 4 fingers, and the inside isn't filled in. Yay! Now, the body. It looks pretty interesting. While it's skinny, the waist is connected to the body (just like with the original heroes), a feature we never saw with Bionicles. The head is new, and it looks pretty interesting (also). The helmet is 2 pieces, but I'm not really fond of the the little helmet accessory. Also, the weapon has LEGO pieces on them which kinda gives it a LEGO feel. Also, he comes with light blue spears that are flexible! Also, he comes with a new hero core, which is the top half of the original hero cores. Sadly, it is made with solid plastic. It is no longer translucent.

Joints. These guys are a big improvement to the original heroes (joint wise). The legs, and arms can move! At the first sight of the 2.0 series poster on the LEGO January calender, I thought that the arms on all the heroes were the arms/legs from the original heroes, just with fancy armor.

    Pros:

    - JOINTS! YES!

    - Nice armor

    - Cool new pieces

    Cons:

    - Helmet accessories

    - New hero cores

    - Hasn't come out yet. Don't let us starve LEGO!

    Defender of Ta-koro

Written by (KFOL) in United States,

Hello, I am going to do a review on set 8534, or as many of you call it, Tahu. He is really cool and I think kids will enjoy him.

So, he has a red Kanohi Hau (the mask) which is nice. He also has an arm, that when you twist the gear on back the arm will spin. He also has a fire sword that will fit into the spinning arm to make a slashing motion. He has a lack of joints. But the rest of the set is fine.

    • pros

    -Cool color scheme

    -Sword slashing action

    -Awesome mask

    -Nice playobility

    • cons

    -Lack of joints

    Awesome Little Disk Thrower

Written by (KFOL) in United States,

So, I'm doing a review on set 1391-1, Jala. This little guy is really great, and I think kids will enjoy him.

He comes with a disk with a picture of his mask printed on it. His color scheme is red and yellow which is really nice. He comes with a yellow Kanohi Hau (the mask) which is awesome! He has a disk throwing arm made for the disk. He does not have a lot of pieces. The build is short and he has a lack of joints

    • pros

    -Throws disk

    -Yellow mask

    -Nice color scheme

    -Nice playobility

    • cons

    -Lack of joints

    -Disk is loose in hand
