By in Australia,

I know the A-wing is popular (because Lego's made a few of them), but didn't we just have this one?

By in Germany,

I don't know why, but I just like the 2006 Star Wars range...

Believe it or not, this little set was a dark age ender for me. This, and some of the other small SW sets from this time. I distinctly remember tearing this one apart to build a MOC landspeeder type vehicle. Good times.

@Zordboy I think it was the 2000 one, before all the curved wedges came out.

Because I got the first version, I never picked up this version. It does look nice though. What I did get was the Mon Calamari Home One with the green A-Wing and I imagine it is really similar. Looks nice. If anyone owns multiple A-Wings, share how similar the builds are among them.

2006 was an almost dead year for me and LEGO Star Wars. I got the V-Wing Fighter at Wal-Mart as an early release in December 2005, and that was it for me that year (BIONICLE, on the other hand, absolutely dominated my collecting). However, this A-wing and the new Boba Fett Slave I gave me serious remorse in later years. That is, until LEGO remake them (of course). This version is very fine and a worthy improvement over the blocky 2000 predecessor. However, I won't get it since I got an A-wing in my Mon Calamari Home One set in 2009. This one still defines the look of the A-wings to this day, so I recognize the importance of it.

I try to buy all the A-Wings LEGO puts out. It’s my favorite Star Wars starfighter. Plus those cylinders in dark red! I couldn’t pass that up in ‘06.

This was my very first Lego set. At that time, I was only 6, and I found it frustrating so my dad built it for me, so I didn’t like Lego (so hard to believe lol). Then close to two years later, I got into Lego and have been buying/acquiring sets ever since.

I really wanted this as the A-Wing is possibly my favourite SW ship. However, I was young and my parents wouldn't get it for me. Was so happy when the 2013 version came out. It is very similar to this one but superior in my opinion. I also got the 2017 one which is a quite different structurally from the others. Not sure which is my favourite out of the two I have.

2017 is the best version because Of Lando.

I think I will start rating these random set post. I became a Lego fan in 2008 so it's hard for me to judge this based on when it was released. If it came out now it would be full due to lack of detail, but in 2006 it was probably fine. It still looks fun, I'm sure kids in 2006 would have loved it. $20 is a great price, now you would have to settle for a Juniors A-Wing for that price, we shall see how that turns out. Weird how there was only 16 sets that year when now we can get more then that in a small wave. Overall 7.5/10.

Great little ship, and a vast improvement over the original from 2000. I ended up buying two of these on aftermarket, although one didn't come w/the minifigures (always liked that green Rebel pilot suit). I've bought every A-Wing since this, except for last year's - kept waiting on a discount but it was discontinued first :(

This was a good A-Wing--not as good as 2013's 75003, but way better than the original. I had this, then sold it when 75003 came out, but this era had some really good models. The curved wedges that came out a few years prior really helped Star Wars a lot.

I am glad to see a set I have, and this is one of my favorites!
