“That car doesn’t look like it’s on fire at the moment, but better safe than sorry!”
Many trans-light blue round bricks were lost in the year 2010.
Under the couch...
Eaten by the dog...
Sucked up by the vacuum...
Gone, but not forgotten.

Or
"I'll just scoop up that car so this guy can't escape as I shoot water at him."
Looks like it's going to act as a firemen manned wrecking ball..
One of my favourite minifigure accessories is the combination of the fireman hat, tubes, visor and tank all on at the same time. Fit together so satisfyingly.
That water gun piece used on the helicopter was so versatile, I wonder why lego stopped making them?
I really wanted some of these, but the prices were crazy high. I never saw it on sale.

It's all fun and safety, until you accidentally drown your coworker.
But could it rescue a man who has fallen in the river in LEGO City?
What a great set. City sets from 2008-2010 or so were fantastic. I especially like the truck as it's not absurdly large and it was doors that work.
I like the look of the helicopter. I'm not overly enthusisastic about specialized parts but it looks good. SUV though, I still think this design is very bland and clunky.
Bah, I just bought this set about 2 weeks ago for about ~25 Euro in used but quite good condition. I really liked the almost hidden rear landing gears. I think this set could have been very succesful when it was relesed.
Start the new rescue helicopter. . . . H E Y ! ! !

A man has survived a river in Lego City.
Build the fire helicopter
And off to make sure he drowns anyway
With the new fire helicopter of Lego City
The early days of LEGO City's Helicopter obsession: circa. 2010-2020.
Those wheel arches look so goofy with those wheels. They just don't fit together.
“Quickly, the Wipeout course urgently needs this replacement big red ball!”

The one on mine, where it fits into the grey piece below, has broken so the minifig has to hold it in the air not connected to anything. A great workout for his muscles :)
This helicopter was called Camel in Lego City Undercover game.

When I first saw the image I thought this was a new 2023 set, as not much has changed in 13 years since the era of pre-fab front and back helicopter and plane parts to improve aesthetics and make the build easier for 4 year olds, but just means a whole generation does not know what an alternative build is.

2005-2010 for me.
A big helicopter and a sizeable off-roader for £20! That's staggering value, shame City sets are so pricey now
F. Rest in piece.

I suspect that's either an error or the UK benefiting from a more favorable exchange rate at the time, looking at the US price.

Nope, helicopters can't carry enough water.
Also, why does it have blue lights? To let other aircrafts know they have to clear the way?
@Andrusi:
Just one year later, 10221 released at $399.99 for a mere 3124pcs, and not nearly enough minifigs to explain the massive 33% price hike. This was shortly after the housing crisis in the US caused a recession that was apparently significant enough that they increased our prices for at least a year or two.
If this was a Ninjago set, the helicopter itself would be completely ablaze, probably sport fangs and claws, and be awesome for it. Alas.
First set! Many a crook escaped from 7498-1 by standing on the roof and leaping into the bucket.
This set brought back so many good memories for me and my son, who was into anything that had to do with firefighters. I remember bricklinking the pieces to build this and a few police and fire boats for him as it these sets were retired at the time.

Or boats.
Huh. This is one of the sets that turned up mostly-complete (ish) in the big lot I got last October. It's missing that big bucket, which I'm not even going to try to replace before I sell it on, and a few other pieces including the long bricks that stop the helicopter from falling apart in the middle which I definitely do need to Bricklink; but otherwise it was pretty near completeness.
I plan to sell it and the other sets that I'm not particularly interested in on eBay once I've got their remaining pieces, and hopefully make enough from them to cover the cost of the full lot; if I can, I'll have essentially got the four sets that I do want to keep from it for free, which is always good :D
It's a pretty nice helicopter, even for using the big specialised parts. But 6462, which I also got in the lot a little less complete, seems nicer to me for not using them ^^
I have this set, it was and still is one of my favourites, both in terms of looks and playability. And yes, I dropped plenty of trans-light-blue 1×1 round bricks...
Bland and clunky? I say it resembles a lot the real life car that inspired this, a Land Rover Defender 90 pick-up. And it's very realistic, or at least it is for me since I'm from Italy and the Italian National Fire Corps uses, among others, Defender 90s as brush fire units, just like the one in the set!
