By in United States,

I loved Mars Mission! Bought most of them. Still a great theme. But... I didn’t love the alien crafts.

By in United States,

Hope the new city space subtheme coming out in the summer will be something like this... but I believe that is only but a dream... we’ll be stuck with the same generic shuttles...

(Dramatic overdone theatrical sigh)

Hey, 'nother Mars Mission! This one looks cooler then the last, too. Robo arms? Yes please!

By in Australia,

If the new City spaceport sets don't contain a new helicopter and new atv I'm going to be really disappointed!

Fragile, ugly, unfinished.

always thought the alien ship was a bit weird in this one. its got hinges in its wings where they join up with the fuselage that allow them to...swing forward and hit the cockpit. was never entirely sure what the point of that was

By in France,

Many sfx on the box, I wonder if it's just to attract the customers or hide the fact that the set has nothing that interesting on its own... Can those who own/ed it answer that question? I was just coming from my dark ages at the time, and only for the SW line, so I cannot judge just on this picture, but I am surprised by the art design of the packaging. And I am sure I would have liked it as a kid though!

What a mess.

I loved this set and this theme as a whole.

The large mission base on new city space has a monorail type vehicle using rollercoaster track. The rest of the space vehicles are just standard white I'm afraid. Nothing exciting

By in Hungary,

Looks like it's unsure what it wants to be so it tries to be everything at once - the result's a bit of a mess. Good for parts?

By in Finland,

Another MM fan here. Don't care if some people think this set is 'a mess'. I just find this set imaginative and unique.

I love Mars Mission!

By in Germany,

Fan of Mars Mission here: The second and third? wave are the good ones. The Claw Tank from the first was a for that time typical large but not very detailed vehicle.

I quite liked the new Mars Mission sets, since I'm a fan of LEGO space from the get-go. This model has some very good functions, but, like all sets from this series, has some... awkwardness to it. Too many parts that stick out and break easily. You can clearly see that LEGO had some challenging times back then...

My favorite part of this set is the cockpit for the claw tank. Not too many Space sets have a large bubble canopy and it's very appropriate for the vehicle IMO.

Huh, I mentioned this one when the crytsal reaper came up a few days back. One of my favourite as a kid, I actually removed some of the weapons to make it seem less overpowered against the aliens. It was cool to get an alien ship in the same set, whatever people say about the whole good vs bad thing. Made a good starter pack when buying many sets wasn't possible.
While I admit the Mars Mission range certainly had its flaws in concept and design, I do wish Lego would make something like this again. Realistic (ish) city space just isn't the same.

+Look! An Alien ship! ALIEN-POWERED-BEAM-DISC-CLAW-TANK: ACTIVATE!
-Doodoodoo, patrolling the new colony... looking for- HOLY SWARM QUEEN WHAT'S THAT?!

Had the large quarter circle pieces been produced in black before this theme? They dominate the alien crafts, almost as if they had a glut of them to use
