Anatomy of a Rescue

In this lab, you will get a hands-on look at the internal physiology of different species as you compare organs and bones from both mammals and reptiles.  Using three-dimensional anatomical models and scientific specimens, we will examine case studies of real patients we help rescue here at the Brevard Zoo!

Beach Mice

STEM Conservation Workshop

Dive into the world of conservation with this interactive 3-hour workshop at Brevard Zoo, where science, technology, engineering, and math come to life! Designed for ages 13-17, this hands-on experience lets you explore three of our key conservation projects. Work in teams to design and build a beach mouse habitat, engineer a sea turtle-friendly lighting system, and model real fieldwork from our Restore Our Shores initiative to help repopulate the Indian River Lagoon with clams and oysters. Get ready to think like a scientist, collaborate like an engineer, and make a difference for wildlife!

Lagoon Quest

Dive into the vibrant ecosystem of the Indian River Lagoon with our hands-on experience! Using a variety of scientific tools, you will help gather population and water quality data. While collecting and identifying some of the small creatures that call the lagoon their home, you will learn how truly important Indian River Lagoon conservation is. Get ready for an adventure beyond the zoo! Please keep in mind that this is an offsite field trip experience.
