A Vermont Pari-Mutuel Betting Act was on the November 8, 1960 ballot in Vermont as a legislatively referred state statute, where it was approved.
The election asked voters to ratify Act 259 passed by the Vermont General Assembly on June 11, 1959. Act 259 established pari-mutuel betting "for the protection of the public welfare and good order of the people of the state, the support and encouragement of agricultural fairs and the improvement of the breed of horses in Vermont."
