Jon Ernest DeGuilio is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. He served as chief judge from 2020 to 2023.[1] He was nominated to the court by President Obama (D) on January 20, 2010, and confirmed on May 11, 2010, by the U.S. Senate. DeGuilio assumed senior status on July 17, 2023.[2]

DeGuilio earned his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1977 and his juris doctorate degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law in 1981.[3][4]

On January 18, 2010, DeGuilio was recommended for nomination to President Obama (D) for a seat on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana by Senator Evan Bayh. The president nominated DeGuilio to a seat vacated when Allen Sharp took senior status in 2007.[6][7]
DeGuilio received a rating of "Unanimously Qualified" from the American Bar Association.[8]
The U.S. Senate confirmed DeGuillo on May 11, 2010, on a voice vote.[9]
