Keith A. Pesto is a part-time federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.[1] He has served in this position since March 1, 1994.[2]

Biography and Education

Pesto was born on September 20, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his B.A. degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University in 1980, and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1983.[2]

Career

Pesto began his career in 1984 as a lawyer in Philadelphia. The following year, he became a law clerk for Judge D. Brooks Smith of the Court of Common Pleas of Blair County. He became a private practice lawyer again in 1986 and also began working for the Blair County District Attorney's Office. In 1988, he resumed his clerkship with Judge D. Brooks Smith, this time on the Western District of Pennsylvania. He worked in that capacity until he was appointed to the district court himself in 1994.[2]
