Dan Onorato
Dan Onorato (b. 1961), is a former Chief Executive of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was a Democratic nominee for Governor of Pennsylvania in 2010.

Career
After graduating from Penn State, Dan became a Certified Public Accountant. Eventually he returned to school and graduated from University of Pittsburgh school of law in 1989. In 1991 Dan left private practice as an Attorney and was elected to his first public office, winning a seat on the Pittsburgh city council where he served two terms. In 2000, Dan was elected Allegheny County Controller.
In 2003, Dan ran a successful campaign against the Republican incumbent to become Allegheny County's Chief Executive. In 2009 Dan announced his candidacy in the 2010 Pennsylvania gubernatorial election.
Elections
2010
On October 5, 2009 Dan announced his candidacy for the Democratic party nomination for Governor of Pennsylvania.[1] On May 18, 2010 he won the Democratic Primary over Jack Wagner, Joseph Hoeffel and, Anthony Hardy Williams, earning 45% of over one million votes cast, making him the Democratic nominee.
Onorato lost to Republican Tom Corbett in the November 2 general election.
